Microsoft Company Portal Setup

Windows Device Enrolment

Microsoft is used by your company to securely manage work devices, applications and access to company resources.

To register your Windows computer with your organisation, you must install the Microsoft Company Portal app and sign in using your company Microsoft 365 account.

You will need:

  • Your Windows 11 Pro computer.

  • Your company Microsoft account.

  • Microsoft Authenticator already configured on your mobile phone.

Follow the steps below to set up Company Portal on your device:

1. Install Company Portal

On your Windows computer:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store.

  2. Search for: Company Portal

  1. Make sure the application is published by Microsoft Corporation.

  2. Click Install or Get.

  3. Wait for the installation to complete.

  4. Open Company Portal.

Do not install Company Portal from an unofficial website.

2. Sign In with Your Company Account

When Company Portal opens:

  1. Select Sign in.

  2. Enter your company email address.

  3. Enter your Microsoft 365 password.

  4. Complete Microsoft Authenticator verification if requested.

Always use your company work account, not a personal Microsoft account.

3. Set Up Your Device

After signing in, Company Portal may display a message similar to:

Set up your device

Select: Next

Company Portal will guide you through connecting your Windows computer to your organisation.

When prompted, select: Connect

Microsoft may ask you to sign in again.

Enter:

  • Your company email address.

  • Your Microsoft 365 password.

  • Your Microsoft Authenticator verification if requested.

4. Allow Your Organisation to Manage the Device

During enrolment, Windows may display a message asking you to allow your organisation to manage the device.

Select: Allow

By completing this process, the device can be registered with your organisation and the company data is isolated.

This also allows your organisation to apply required security settings, applications and access policies to the device - which are required to access company resources and data.

5. Complete the Company Portal Setup

Continue following the Company Portal instructions.

Depending on your organisation's configuration, you may see options such as:

Go, Next, Connect, or Done

Complete each step until Company Portal confirms that the setup is finished.

When you see a message indicating that your device is ready or setup has been completed, select: Done

Your Windows computer should now be registered with your organisation.

6. Check Your Device in Company Portal

After enrolment:

  1. Open Company Portal.

  2. Select Devices.

  3. Locate your Windows computer.

  4. Confirm that the device appears in your account.

Company Portal may show the device status as:

  • Checking access.

  • In progress.

  • Compliant.

  • Can access company resources.

The exact wording may vary depending on your organisation's security policies.

7. Allow Time for Company Policies to Apply

After the device is enrolled, Microsoft may begin applying company security settings and applications.

This can include:

  • Security policies.

  • Microsoft Defender settings.

  • Windows security requirements.

  • Company applications.

  • Configuration profiles.

  • Access policies.

  • Device compliance requirements.

Do not remove the Company Portal app after enrolment.

8. Check Device Status

If Company Portal shows that your device requires attention:

  1. Open Company Portal.

  2. Select Devices.

  3. Select your Windows computer.

  4. Select Check status or Check access if available.

  5. Follow any instructions displayed on screen.

You may be asked to:

  • Update Windows.

  • Restart your computer.

  • Enable a security setting.

  • Configure a PIN.

  • Enable encryption.

  • Install a required application.

Complete all required actions.

9. Sync Your Device

If TECHNOTIC asks you to sync your device:

  1. Open Company Portal.

  2. Select Settings or your device.

  3. Select Sync or Check status, depending on the option displayed.

  4. Wait for the synchronisation to complete.

This allows the computer to retrieve the latest company policies, applications and security settings from Microsoft Intune.

10. Do Not Remove Your Work Account

After enrolment, do not remove your company account from:

Windows Settings → Accounts → Access work or school

unless instructed by TECHNOTIC.

Removing the account may disconnect the computer from Microsoft and prevent access to company services.
