Transitioning to Keeper Enterprise
Why Is Technotic Changing Password Management Platforms?
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving security, usability, and operational efficiency, Technotic is transitioning customers from N-able Passportal to Keeper Security for password management.
Password managers play a critical role in protecting business accounts, securing shared credentials, and ensuring staff can safely access the systems they need to perform their work.
Following a review of available solutions, we believe Keeper provides a stronger long-term platform that better aligns with modern security standards and future business requirements.
-
Organisations currently using Passportal will be migrated to Keeper Security.
Keeper performs the same core function as Passportal by securely storing and managing passwords, but also provides several additional features designed to improve both security and user experience.
The transition will be managed by Technotic and will be planned with each customer to minimise disruption.
-
Technology and cybersecurity continue to evolve.
We have identified several areas where Keeper provides advantages over our current password management platform, including:
Support for Passkeys and modern authentication standards
Simpler user experience
Improved mobile and desktop applications
Better support for single sign-on (SSO)
More flexible and secure password sharing
Improved long-term platform development and feature roadmap
Better alignment with Microsoft's move toward passwordless authentication
Our goal is to ensure customers are using a platform that supports both current and future security requirements.
-
For most users, Keeper provides a simpler and more modern experience.
Users can securely store:
Passwords
Passkeys
Secure notes
MFA recovery codes
Shared team credentials
Many users find that Keeper makes it easier to access the accounts they need while reducing the number of passwords they need to remember.
-
Most organisations will experience minimal disruption during the transition.
Technotic will work with your organisation to:
Set up Keeper
Configure security policies
Import existing password records
Assist with user onboarding
Provide guidance and training where required
Depending on how your organisation currently uses Passportal, some users may be asked to install the Keeper application or browser extension.
How Does This Relate To Passkeys?
Passkeys and password managers are separate technologies, but they work well together.
Microsoft is encouraging organisations to move toward Passkeys and passwordless authentication. Keeper supports Passkeys and provides a secure location to manage and protect them.
